O-Ring Maintenance
Lubrication and maintenance of underwater video camera housing O-rings
Remove by pinching and bunching up, or toothpick, or o-ring remover, or corner of old plastic card etc.. Not something sharp.
Think of the grease as helping the o-ring to sit in the right place, rather than actually sealing. Silicone grease and optics don't mix, and silicone is difficult to get off. So take care to keep it away from lenses and ports.
Use grease that came with ports or housing if possible.
Once before each trip. Not every day or every dive. That just increases chances of making a mistake and causing a leak.
Don't great Gates type of o-rings.
